I have been involved in politics, civic engagement, and volunteering for over three decades and I have served Kaysville in numerous ways since moving here 12 years ago.
Since 2009, I have been the Chairman of our largest civic event, the Kaysville 4th of July Parade, interfacing with business owners, elected officials, city staff, and residents with an event that brings enjoyment to tens of thousands and a tradition in our community for generations. I served on Kaysville City’s Planning Commission for nearly 6 years from 2012 to 2018, making prudent and sound decisions on hundreds of land use issues, forming how our city will look for decades to come, and working with residents and city staff on positive solutions to complex problems.
For the past year, I have been seated on our City Council working on numerous high profile projects across our city. Attempting to deliver Fiber Optic service to the residents of Kaysville: https://connectkaysville.com/ ,
numerous infrastructure and road projects, budget and land use issues, and continuing the difficult work to help keep Kaysville one of the most desirable cities across Utah.
Looking ahead to the next 4 years and beyond, I will be a vocal advocate of the ongoing pledge of improving our roads and infrastructure city wide. I will also pursue expansion of our current Police and Fire services to the west side of the city, ensuring prompt response times and preserving the safety of our citizens. Land use issues and residential infill always bring complex challenges. Expanding on my work with the Planning Commission, and my knowledge of Utah's Land Use Code and Ordinances, I will ensure our growth and development will be done in a prudent and objective manner, by listening to residents and understanding the law for the benefit of all involved. Alleviating some of the residential tax payer's burden by bringing commercial and industrial growth to our city is crucial and utilizing our current zones to the best of their ability is absolutely paramount.
I am exceptionally committed to serving all 32,000 residents of Kaysville in a transparent, open, and honest fashion for the next 4 years. I care about what happens in our community and I will continue to make decisions in an objective, fair, and open-minded way for the benefit of all who live here, our city staff, and my fellow elected and appointed officials. Being a public servant is a humbling, rewarding, and amazing experience, I couldn’t ask to live and serve in a better place - Utah's Hometown.
